The topic I have selected today is very close to my heart. Why??..Because I have a very old relationship with frustration or you could say I was a frustration specialist.But thankfully we are divorced now.. Getting rid of this bad boy was not easy. But I have managed to do it..How??..Its not anything theoretical.Its very much true and practical because I did it..Lets find out how..
Does that mean everything is perfect in my life??
Not at all..I have also many issues and problems in my life.There are lots of frustrating moments as well.Growth never comes without it.I have faced so many set backs And Yes I also get frustrated.But the key here is I don’t let that feeling grasp me anymore.
How the Human Mind works??
Well, I don’t want to sound like a science teacher here, But what I have read is, Human mind divided by 3% of conscious mind and rest 97% of subconscious mind.What we want, we desire are decided by our conscious mind but subconscious mind is the boss who manipulates our thoughts and it knows what we Actually wants and Actually Desires and often we are in the tug of war between conscious and subconscious mind. The subconscious mind works like branches of a tree.Give it one negative feeling about anything, it expands its branches and finds out anything and everything negative about your life, present and future. And the result is FRUSTRATION. Frustration is not a thought, it’s an outburst of the accumulated negative thoughts in mind.So our aim is, to divert our subconscious mind to a positive direction.
1) Accept the Truth
Lets look into some typical reasons of frustration.Frustration mainly comes from failure in something. May be it’s a failure to achieve something or failure for not living upto your own expectations. Whatever the reason may be Accept That.Don’t deny it or fight with it.If you are brave enough to accept it you are prepped to overcome it.
2) Write it down
Take a pen and paper and write down the reasons of your frustration.You know the funny part is when you will start writing about your frustrations, you will find most of them does not exist at all.It was your illusion.This happens to me a lot of time.This step is my most favorite step.As I end up writing 2 to 3 real issues out of may be 50 issues which were bugging me.The science is, Human mind thinks in images, so by writing it you are actually sending signal to your mind that, “You have actually very few issues to solve”. This reduces the stress.
3) Take a Break
After you find out your REAL reasons for your frustration stop looking into it anymore and Take a break. Best way to watch a comedy show or play some sports and for me its SHOPPING!! . But don’t do anything which stress your mind.Try to get surrounded by Happy and Positive people. The reason is to put a break on your subconscious mind negative thought process and to move its direction to somewhere else.Also here a very important thing to notice is, Human mind thinks in images.If you see smiling people, comedy shows, happy people around you automatically that “Happy Signal” reaches to your mind.
4) Pamper yourself
Go to a spa or parlor, Pamper yourself and make yourself happy.you deserve this!..This step works like magic to regain self-confidence.
5) Think About the Happy Moments
Think about the moments what makes you happy.It can be the day your got your first job or anything which brings smile on your face. Then think what you did to achieve those best moments in life. Again this step is important to regain self-confidence and remind your subconscious mind that you are capable of doing so many things and you have achieved so much in your life.
